About one mommy named Tonya
It wasn’t long after our eldest started preschool, that I soon realized my identity had changed. For thirty two+ years of my life I had been known as Tonya and I was now, simply, C’s Mommy. The awakening happened one afternoon in the grocery store. As we approached a carriage with another child and parent shopping, the mother immediately recognized my daughter and said, ‘Hi C!” As the girls happily chattered, she looked at me and said, “Oh, you must be C’s mommy. Nice to meet you. I’m Nikko’s mom.” It was that simple. My identify had forever changed (along with several other aspects of my life<g>!).
Often, my role as mommy has included hunting for resources to support our two children in school and at home. These resources have included curriculum, extra curriculars, allergy management, orthopaedics, college applications, and just about anything else you can imagine. Over the years I’ve received many phone calls and emails asking me to share the resources I’ve found (for both homeschooling and enrichment) and I finally have a few hours a week to do so! As I start to publish my thoughts and links, I hope these resources save you some time and that you can use that time to spend an extra moment with your children while they are still at home!
I welcome you to comment on my posts, encourage you to ask questions and participate in this site!
Best,
Tonya
